Founders Al Baert and Morry Sauve transformed a storage room into a 1920's era old fishing/hunting cabin. For awhile, every time one or the other came into the museum they would have something "new" (usually very OLD) to add to the authenticity of the display. They would hit every garage sale between St. Cloud and Little Falls for items. They actually designed the scene around the flat-bottom boat that was resurrected from Lake Beauty (between Long Prairie and Little Falls). In its hey-day it was owned by a resort, according to the DNR and Minnesota Health Department! (You'll have to stop by for a visit for the story!)

The Minnesota Fishing Museum sign on the cabin was made by Morry Sauve and is often the background for visitors' photographs. It's also been featured and used as a backdrop for many television sports programs including an "On the Road with Jason Davis" (who also donated a motor!), Joe Schmitt sportscasts on the Minnesota Walleye openers, Ron Schara's "Minnesota Bound", and others. The City of Little Falls is loaning a Mule-eared Deer Mount.
